How to book an appointment

A current referral is required to book an appointment with any of the gastroenterologists we support. Medicare rebates are only applicable if a current referral is in place.

  • GP referrals are valid for 12 months
  • Specialist referrals are valid for 3 months

To book your appointment, please email your referral to mailbox@gastrotract.com.au for triage.  24-48 hours following this, please call our rooms to find a suitable appointment time.

Please note that we are unable to book consults or procedures via email.  Bookings can only be made by phone.

Fees for Procedures

If you hold Private Health Hospital Cover, private procedures will be billed as “known gap” with an out of pocket ranging from $280 – $500 depending on your procedure.  This means if your private health insurance covers the procedure your Gastroenterologist’s out of pocket fee will be between $280 – $500 & the remainder will be covered by your health fund and Medicare. There may be an excess you will be required to pay to the endoscopy facility depending on the type of your cover. This excess will be payable if you are having a procedure at a private hospital. Public hospitals will not incur any out of pocket charges.

If you do not have private health insurance you can pay for procedures to be done privately and prices vary depending on the hospital and the procedure to be carried out.

Prior to all procedures a quote outlining the costs of the procedure will be provided to you. If you have any additional questions our staff will be happy to discuss with you.
