Professor Narci Teoh
Professor Narci Teoh, MBBS, FRACP, PhD, is a female gastroenterologist and hepatologist in Canberra; she has provided care for her patients at GastrotrACT over the past 20 years.
Narci graduated in Medicine with First class Honours from the University of Sydney and completed her postgraduate, specialist training at the Royal North Shore and Westmead Hospitals in Sydney. After a stint at the University of Washington, Seattle, she was recruited to the Australian National University and The Canberra Hospital as a clinical-academic in 2006. Since then, Narci has remained a proud and active member of Canberra as well as its surrounding regional communities.
Narci is a current Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, has held several senior leadership positions in her profession’s peak body; she served as President of the Gastroenterological Society of Australia, GESA, 2017 – 2019.
Dr Teoh’s clinical practice interests include coeliac disease, colorectal cancer screening, fatty liver disease, chronic viral hepatitis B and the prevention of related complications. She is GESA-certified and recertified in gastroscopy and colonoscopy. Narci is experienced in relating to patients of most ages, including adolescents (age 14+); her focus is on excellence in patient-centred, collegial collaborative care with clear communications at the core of optimal gastroenterological and liver health provision. She enjoys working with her colleagues in caring for patients in Canberra and from the surrounding rural regions.
